Privacy notice

1. Who am I?

Tim Allen, a sole-trader magician and children’s entertainer based in Woking, Surrey UK. I trade as Mr Tim’s Magic for children’s entertainment and magic. I provide magic shows, balloon modelling and related entertainment services for families, schools and community events. 2. The personal data I collect

I only collect the information I need to communicate with you and provide my services. Some of this information may be provided by you at the time of your initial contact with me (whether by email or using the Contact form) or on request by me in connection with your event. This includes:

  • Your name

  • Your email address

  • Your telephone number

  • Your home address (for invoicing and event location)

  • Details about your event (date, time, venue, type of booking)

I do not collect any special category data, and I do not use automated decision‑making.

I do not collect any payment information; all payments are handled directly by you using your chosen payment method.

My website uses essential cookies for security and basic functionality, and non‑essential analytics cookies to understand visitor activity. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent via the cookie banner.

 

3. How I use your personal data

I use your information only for:

  • Responding to your enquiry

  • Confirming your booking

  • Providing entertainment services

  • Issuing invoices and receipts

  • Meeting HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) record‑keeping requirements

I do not use your details for marketing, newsletters, or any unrelated purpose.

 

4. Lawful basis for processing

Under GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations), I rely on:

  • Contract – I need your details to arrange and deliver your booking

  • Legal obligation – I must keep financial records for HMRC

Consent is not required because I do not use your data for marketing.

 

5. How long I keep your data

I keep invoices and booking records for 6 years, as required by HMRC. Emails and other correspondence are deleted when no longer needed. I do not transfer your data outside the UK.

 

6. How your data is stored and protected

Your information is stored securely on a password‑protected device located in the UK and in a private invoicing spreadsheet. I do not share your data with anyone except:

  • HMRC, if legally required

  • My accountant, if applicable (for tax purposes only)

I do not sell or transfer your data to any third parties.

 

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you

  • Correct inaccurate information

  • Request deletion of your data (except where I must keep records for HMRC)

  • Object to how your data is used

  • Complain to the ICO if you believe your data has been mishandled

8. Children’s data

I may use the child’s first name for the purposes of delivering the service (eg name for a magical birthday card, date of actual birthday, age) and, with parental permission, in social media posts. This may also include the party theme. This information is kept only as part of the invoice record required by HMRC.

 

9. Changes to this notice

I may update this privacy notice from time to time. The latest version will always be available on my website or on request.
